Introduction to Network
Network automation is the automation of routine or repetitive tasks within networking. This includes writing one-off scripts for routers and servers. Network automation is an important process to bring networking functions into the DevOps team. The DevOps concept is a collaboration between software development and information technology operations. It’s about bringing the workers and tools of a company together which have influence on software delivery, like classic developers and system administrators but also quality assurance and the management. At the end processes of software delivery should be improved and automated and this is where network automation comes into play. It moves the organizational structure from DevOps to a new variation, called NetDevOps.
White-box switches that enable a software defined networking environment make network automation possible. Through this environment, we are able to eliminate repetitive tasks, deliver code, and prevent fat fingers.
