Datapath.io sends performance-related test data to all internet network prefixes. Then data is collected in the network optimization map, which is a great tool to get an overview of possible improvement. You have the ability to see global latency time for different regions from different providers. You can also zoom in to see the latency for an individual city.
Setup of the network monitoring tools
First, you connect your cloud provider and then you add the physical connection between AWS* and Datapath.io. Then you add instances and asign elastic IP addresses.
What you now have to do is define specific rules for your performance constraints. You choose the locations and the value for the latency constraint and in the end, your data traffic will only be sent over routes that have a latency under the defined constraint.
In the report section, the progress of your rules is displayed. The latency measurements are always compared to other transit providers and the default route from AWS. Here you can monitor your individual network improvement.
*since no other cloud provider is available for Datapath.io at the moment.
