In the video we demonstrate a use case of our product Anycast showing load balancing and failover testing. We use a network emulator where we have two clouds (Seattle and LA) which are connected to the Datapath.io equipment and three clients (located in Portland, SF and Santa Barbara) connected to the network. For our example we host a website streaming application at our two clouds in an active/passive deployment where Seattle is our master.*
We simulate a failover in Seattle which results in the stream stopping to deliver for a few seconds. In this moment the network in the background is reorganizing which leads to LA being the delivering cloud.
This is a classic case of solving server failover with Datapath.io, because instead of recovering in up to 30 minutes it just takes several seconds. We can increase your cloud network performance and provide best user experience!
*Usually you don’t have a master because in a classic Anycast scenario (Global Gravity) the client-nearest cloud will deliver the data. On the Dashboard you can choose different scenarios, there is also one available (API) where you can fully optimize routing based on your own decisions.
